
Arna is a graduate of the University of Southern California Marshall School of Business with a lifelong passion for numbers and finance. During her forty-plus years as a financial leader in her capacity as a Chief Financial Officer in the small business and nonprofit sectors, she has managed more than $350 million in total assets. She stands on a financial leadership platform of transparency, integrity, accountability, and credibility. Arna is nationally recognized for her financial expertise in nonprofit fiscal management and is an experienced fiscal management trainer, having conducted workshops throughout the United States. Her financial expertise awarded her nomination as a Los Angeles Business Journal CFO of the Year.
Arna currently serves as President/CEO of Alford Consulting Group, a full-service financial management firm offering accounting, tax, and financial management training and consultation services to individuals, small businesses, and nonprofit organizations.
A strong advocate of economic development and community empowerment, believing that you cannot have community empowerment without economic and fiscal empowerment.
She has embraced her civic responsibility by serving the Los Angeles County Second Supervisorial District under former Board member Mark Ridley-Thomas, as chair of the Empowerment Congress Summit and the Empowerment Congress Economic Development Committee, and as an originating member since March 2011, and as the Chair of the Economic Development Committee for four years.
In addition, she was appointed to the Crenshaw/LAX Community Leadership Council, which was the first community-member-led public/private partnership on a major rail construction line in the country, where she served as the Co-Chair of the council throughout the rail line's development and completion in 2024. Arna has also chaired the Council on Foundations Fiscal Officers Group and the California State Auxiliary Fiscal Officers Group.
